BO4 Security - ensuring Power Users cannot delete folder/other users' documents

Hi,

We wish to have power users with ability to create documents and able to delete their own reports but not delete other reports belonging to other users in the folder.

Also wish to ensure they have no ability to delete folder itself.

Would View on Demand be tight enough for this.

Looks like is but want to ensure users can't delete things they shouldn't.

Hi Philip,

View on Demand is not enough because the creation is not possible.

You need to create your own ACL in which you allow users to create objects but not delete objects, only for objects that the user owns. I haven't tested it so you might adjust the rights given to the user.

What right is specifically needed to allow users to create objects, view on Demand has

following right

System Universe Create and edit queries based on universe.

Hi Philip,

That right is needed to be able to create reports based on a Universe and connection. However, if you want to be able to save reports to a folder, the user must have this right on that specific folder:

Add objects to the folder

View on demand does not have that right.
