BI query wizard connection problem with backend?

Hi folks,

I am new to VC development please help in the following scenario

what i am trying to do is that connecting BW server using BI Query Wizard but it gives error saying " <b>fialed to conect backend system , check your system defination and user privilege </b>

menu path: BI -> BW web API connection ->

i tried to connect from portal to BW using transaction iview it works fine , i have EP 6.0 patch 9 and BW 3.5 installed

please let me know whether i need to do some other setting on portal or BW side.

Hi Mario,

I appriciate your help, can you please more descriptive let me know which are web api in BW need to activated and how, secondlly what are the authorization need to be given to BW user which is mapped to portal user.

As a first guess I would recommend the following two things:

1. Check, if the Web API is enabled in BW system

2. Check the authorization of the BW user that you mapped to the Portal user.

In the majority of the cases you miss a certain authorization. Testing just a transaction on the BW system does not necessarily mean that you have the proper authorization to call the Web API or BI related RFCs.
