BI Launchpad - Missing Tabs (Home/Documents/Preferences) - IE 10

Hello,

The BI Launchpad is embedded as a tab in our SAP portal. When I open the BI Launchpad via the portal I briefly can see the top bar containing the Home/Documents tabs, Preferences link etc, then about 1/2 a second later it disappears completely dropping me into the Documents tab, albeit missing the tabs bar on the top of the screen.  When I open the BI Launchpad via the direct link I have no problem seeing the Home/Documents tabs, preferences etc. I am on IE 10, Windows 7 SP1, and BI 4.1 SP02 (Version: 14.1.2.1121). According to the PAM documents for 4.1 this shouldn't be a problem as it is supported.  I tested this with the latest version of firefox and it does not have the same problem, so that rules out security.

Anyone have an idea as to why this might be happening?

Thanks for looking,

Gary

just an update if anyone else has this issue, the problem is caused by compatibility mode. To disable in IE11, go to Tools > Compatibility view settings > uncheck Display intranet sites in Compatibility view.

Hello Gary,

I'm still working with OSS on this issue going back and forth with the SAP BI and Portal group.

What we did was switch the iview on the portal back to a urlviews.runtime template to call up the BI Launchpad.  This took care of the IE issue for us but we are still working with them trying to get the Iview template sap_businessobjects_document_list to work calling the BI Launchpad directly.

Hope that helps.

Hi Roger,

Were you able to resolve this issue, where BI Launchpad is displayed correctly ( Home/Document Tabs) from SAP Portal when using IE 11. Please share the resolution if you were successful.

Hello Zia,

What we did was created a iview using the "URL" template.  Provided the URL: https://****/BOE/BI.

Since our BusinessObjects is tied with our SAP BW system we need to pass some URL parameters like sap_sysid and sap_client. By doing the URL call this also opened up the Logoff button.

We are still on 4.1 Sp4 Patch 1 and will probably upgrade 1st quarter at which we will see if we can get the original "SAP BusinessObjects Document List" template to work again to bring up the BI Launch Pad using IE as we did not have any issue using Chrome or Firefox with this issue.   We still use the "SAP BusinessObjects Document Viewer" template to display individual reports from the Portal and have not had any issues.

Since we have a solution we ended up closing out our OSS note with SAP as they were able to duplicate it on there end.

Hope this helps.

Roger

Hi Gary this works but causes another problem....a scroll down issue. You have to change the zoom way down as scroll not working
