Hi All,

Currently our end users use Enterprise Portal to access BW data. But when the data volume increase, the exported excel file increases its size too. Currently we have several 17MB Excel files (but they are html-based excel file) which are not able to opend by MS Office 2003.

According to my limited knowloedge on BW, the exported excel file use "HTML based Excel", which is relatively small. So my qusetion is whether we can export the BW result to a pure excel file fomat??i.e. XLS file

Thanks.

Best Regards,

Marco

Hi,

If it is WAD report then you can give an option export to .xls. Infact, you can also export to .pdf in WAD 2004s.

Hi,

Actually I'm using the standard web template for ad hoc analysis (i.e. 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN). On the page, there is a button called "Export to Excel" and when you save the file, we can save it as .xls file.

But when I opened the file, it is in fact a XML file (with the file extension .xls). Although this is compitable with Excel, but the XML-based excel is very large in file size and if the computer does not have enough memory, it is hardly to open it.

So I'm wondering if it is possible to export the file to "PURE" excel file.

Thanks.

BR,

Marco
