Hello Experts,
I'm trying to search for whitepaper on the BI Accelerator limitations, are there any limitations of using the BI Accelerator (e.g. Navigational Attribute, etc...)?
Thanks for your input in advance.
Regards,
NN
Hello Experts,
I'm using RSRT1 in production to monitor a single query performance, when I used BI Accelerator (without OLAP Cache) the query run slower vs. NON-BI Accelerator (without OLAP Cache) the query run faster.
Also, based on the Display Statistics Data option in RSRT1, what does Data Manager (Event 9000) means regarding to Duration?
Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Niki

There are lots of papers and presentations on BIA on SDN to review.
Main limitation is it supports Infocube queries only (at this time). It does require a separate hardware platform, so you wanto to consider sizing - there are tools for this.
BIA doesn't accelerate Change runs per se. It's just that once you setup a cube to use BIA, you would delete (or at least deactivate) any aggregates on the cube. No aggregates means there is less for a Change Run to do.
Since only master data has to be updated to the BI Accelerator index (no transactional data is touched), the change run is fast. Most customers reported change run times of less than a minute in average

Not to my knowledge regarding nav attributes..however here is one ...
Datastore objects cant be used for BIA.
DataStore objects are usually used for building the Data Warehouse layer. This consolidation layer is usually not used for multi-dimensional reporting. However, for the next SAP NetWeaver release, there are development plans for a new InfoProvider type which is logically a combination of DataStore object and InfoCube. For this new type, SAP NetWeaver BI Accelerator can be used.
Note: this statement is preliminary and subject to change!
Hope it Helps

Traditional approaches to the optimization of query response times uses aggregation, Using aggregates and BI Accelerator may not work together. You might research on this again, I don't confirm it any where thought.
