Sounds like the file system may be full or perhaps there is an OS limit set on file size.

What do you get for

df -k '/sybase/DDD/sapdata_1

and

ulimit -a     (or 'limit' is using csh)

How big is the device currently (sp_helpdevice 'DDD_data_001')?

Does DISK RESIZE work with a smaller value for size?  (try 100M, 10M, 1M...)

Hi Bret,

The current size of the device file is 17G. Yes while trying with the smaller value it is working (i started with 10G and tried to extend with 10G but was not working, then i choose 5G it works then again 5G it does not work.) but now i am not able to move ahead.

the same issue is with all the device files DDD_data_002, 3, 4 (/sybase/DDD/sapdata_1, /sybase/DDD/sapdata_2 etc.)

I have even tried by drooping the device file and creating a new one by 'disk init' but same issue.

i am suspecting if any special parameter is required for SUSE 11 Linux platform at file system or kernel parameter.

Thanks for your support.

Regards

Sunil
