Basic Authentication using HTTPS sender adapter

Dear All,

We have a scenario with HTTPs sender adapter being used in SAP CPI. We have done quite a few scenarios with OAuth authentication by registering a Oauth client.

For Basic authentication I am interested to know where we can CREATE a user to whom we can only assign ESBMessaging.send role.

If we simply add a random user name(say APPL_NAME) in the Security -> Authorizations -> Assign -> User, does it create a user? Or does it have to be a s-user or a p-user?

Regards,

Malgi

Hi Malgi

You cannot create technical users in CPI for the purpose of sender channel authentication. If you are using the default SAP ID Service for authentication, you need to create e.g. a P-user and assign it the appropriate role (ESBMessaging.send by default).

For more details about technical users, please see this blog post by hoang.vu3: Technical user Cloud Platform Integration with custom SCP Identity Authentication Service
