BAPI call from Logon Page

Hi,

We have a customized Logon page for our EP 6.0 SP2 portal. I have added a link that calls a .par file that is used to reset a user's password in R/3 (4.6C). The user must first enter specific information, then a BAPI is called to validate the data and reset the password.

I'm having trouble setting up an authentication scheme for this. If I use the 'uidpwdlogon' scheme with user mapping in place, it won't run the reset application until I log onto the portal. This of course is useless. If I change it to use the 'anonymous' scheme with user mapping, I can run the application, but can't get the connection to R/3 to work.

I could code a JCO connection but don't want to hard code the URL or I lose transportability.

Anyone have any ideas on how to do this?

I'd like to use the JCA if possible. I think all I need is a way to specify the user-id and password without having to specify the URL when I make the call to R/3.

Is there a way to do this?

I'm not sure if this was available in Sp2, but what about the JCO Client portal service?

See <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/40/003c41325fa831e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">the SAP docs</a> for more info. This way, you can transport your code between envs with the configuration set differently in each environment.

Hope that helps.
