I have a situation where data is maintained in an Infocube. We have 2 reporting units like Company1, Company2. Company1 should not be able to see the data of the Company2 and vice versa. Reporting at BEX level is not done by us, client have their own people who will be taking care of reporting. All I need to do is provide concerned data to each company at the cube level itself.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Bhagav,
Solution 1. Make your company info-object which is there in info-cube as authorization relevant, Then for Users who should only see data of company 1 give reporting authorization them and same for other company users.
Solution 2. Make different queries with restriction of company 1 global restriction and another same query with restriction to company 2 and assign this query accordingly to the users.
Solution one is good and have less maintenance of queries and in future if you have more companies you just need to maintain authorization.
Thanks
KDJ
