Hello,

Do you know if SAP ASE 16 SP<XX> PL<XX> certified on Linux RHEL 7.3 ? SAP PAM is very poor as well as help.sap.com -> Installation guide regarding OS releases.

Thank you

Regards

Jose

This KBA explains the implicit certification of X.Y releases:

1941500 - Certification information for Linux and other Operating Systems - SAP ASE

If the PAM states RH 7 is supported, this means all 7.x releases (unless otherwise specified in the Note from the Installation Guide,

2489781 as mentioned above).

So 7, 7.1, 7.2 & 7.3 are certified.

Check out the following SAP Note:

Thanks Bartosz,

I've already check that note, but it just states "RHEL 6.5 and later" but no info on patches or specific instructions are mentioned on RHEL 7.x

Not sure what exactly are you looking for, but in the note you can find that for RHEL 7 you need to install 32 bit libraries:

  • glibc.i686 (Redhat 7 requires 32-bit libraries to execute the isql and dscp utilities)

Soo.. What exactly are you looking for?

Hello Jose,

Bartosz is correct. The Note states that you need at least RHEL 6.5 to run 16.0 SP02 and above. The patch requirements are :

  • kernel-2.6.32-71.el6.x86_64
  • glibc-2.12-1.7.el6.x86_64
  • compat-glibc-2.5-46.2.x86_64

On RHEL 7 you need this additional lib:

  • glibc.i686 (Redhat 7 requires 32-bit libraries to execute the isql and dscp utilities)

Hope this helps

Mehrab
