As both releases for Windows have been released at the same time, and as the list of fixed errors seems quite similar (as far as I can tell), and as Chris seems to imply on his blog with the following statement:
SQL Anywhere Version 12.0.1 offers a roll up of bug fixes and performance enhancements for current 12.0.0 customers, while providing some additional capabilities to attract new customers.
Does it mean current 12.0.0 users should prefer the MR over the EBF?
(Say, if one is not particularly in need of the new features in which case the answer is obvious.)
Yes, I know - these too easy questions are doomed to get an "It depends" response (and one has to test each system with any upgrade/EBF anyway) - but some kind of hint is very welcome:)
There are bug fixes in 12.0.0.2636 that are not in 12.0.1ga. For example, there is a fix to the MLResultSet.getBigDecimal(L/java/lang/String;) method in the ML java APIs that was not in integrated into GA. Of course, that change will be in the first 12.0.1 EBF. I don't know of an easy way to find out what changes are in 12.0.0 that didn't make it into 12.0.1.
Ultimately, if everything is fine for you with 12.0.0, then things should still be good with 12.0.1, but if there is a bug in 12.0.0 that is affecting you, you'll have to check if it's fix is in 12.0.1 before upgrading.
