I think this is your path for archive log DISK:/db2/log_archive/

Use like this

db2 update db cfg for <dbsid> using logarchmeth1 DISK:/db2/log_archive/

Thanks

What you are getting error exact?

Hi,

If you want to change the path for DB2 diagnostic information (e.g. db2diag.log), you can update db cfg parameter DIAGPATH.

LOGARCHMETH1 specifies path/method for archived transaction log files.

Do you know archive logs concept?

Please check your log_archive directory , Is there any files generating?

Please read db2 admin guide and check difference between db2diag and archive logs.

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry, one mistake. DIAGPATH is not DB cfg, but DBM cfg.

You can update it by using update dbm cfg.

Example:

db2 "update dbm cfg using DIAGPATH /db2/newdump"

1. What is db2diag.log ?

The most important diagnostic error log available is the db2diag.log file. On Unix system, the default location of this file is /db2dump/ . When errors occur within DB2, the product component which is receiving the error will attempt to log information that will help to determine and fix the problem.

2 You can find online logs in this folder /db2/DEV/log_dir

3. This directory DISK:/db2/log_archive/ for you can take back up of online logs.

Thanks

Regular transactional logs will generate in this folder /db2/DEV/log_dir, you have take these logs backup any folder.

If you take logs backup it will store in this DISK:/db2/log_archive directory

You have given path in cfg

db2 update db cfg for DEV using LOGARCHMETH1 DISK:/db2/log_archive

First log archive method (LOGARCHMETH1) = DISK:/db2/log_archive/ DISK:/db2/log_archive/

Thanks
