Alert Notification For SAP-PI

Hello,

We have Upgraded PI System from 7.1 to 7.31.

Since then we are not able to receive any Alert notifications in our Mail.

Although we have set current value as 0 for ALERTING_TARGET parameter.

We have also added Generic rules.

Is there any other steps that need to be done?

Could you please check the report RSALERTPROC to see if there is any alerts not confirmed?

Hi Ashwini,

Follow the below steps.

Go TO ID and create Alert Rule.Insert your Configuration Scenario

After this do Jobs and Mail Configuration Process.

Go to Netweaver admin

Configuration -> Infrastructure -> Java System Properties -> Services - Java Mail Client

Please update these parameters like:-Check with you Basis team here.

mail.from :

mail.smtp.host :

mail.smtp.password

Go to Netweaver admin

Operations -> Jobs -> Java Scheduler -> Job Definitions

Next you need to add a new task for AlertConsumerJob.

And Set Your retention period and all.

I guess all you mentioned is for Component based message alerting. but Ashwini is doing classical alerts.

Hi Ashwini - Also make sure of the below propertry in NWA

•   Choose Configuration Infrastructure JAVA System Properties XPI Services: AF Core .
•   Choose tab Services and configure the service properties
  • alerting.isActive (value true).
  • alerting.target
    • value 0 - Classical RWB alerts
    • value 1 - component based alerting.

Below is the status of Parameters in NWA :

ALERTING_IS_ACTIVE=1

ALERTING_TARGET=0

Kindly let us know whether we need to follow any other Steps.

are you getting alert for RSALERTTEST?

and you don't get alerts for message error?

Hi,

uncheck Suppress Multiple Alerts of this Rule. and save it.

run the RSALERTPROC and confirm the alerts.

then send message and make it fail in pi.

System restart is required incase you updated the alerting parameter's in NWA as online modification is ineffective.

Hello,

We have unchecked Suppress Multiple Alerts of Rule.

Even though when tried to execute RSALERTPROC, alerts are not been triggered neither in Dev nor Quality.

Hi Ashwini,

did you follow like this? i am confused please confirm.

1. unchecked unchecked Suppress Multiple Alerts of Rule.

2. confirmed all alerts using RSALERTPROC.

3. you tried to restart the failed message in pi.

check the note 913858 if you can get any help from it.

did you check tcode st22 for PIRWBUSER user?

Hi Naveen,

As Suggested by you and Muni I executed report RSALERTPROC.

We are able to receive Test Alert in our mail box.

But not getting any Generic alerts retated to PI which are defined in Production.

are you telling that executing report RSALERTTEST you are getting alert.

but end to end message failure not producing the alerts.

what about other systems dev and quality? is it working?

did you do the parameter settings in abap and java stack?
