Hi,
For ALE settings in R3 system,
Its better if you follow the sequence of transactions in T CODE --> SALE.
Otherwise
Goto
1. SM59 --> RFC Destination.
2.WE 21 --> Port definition
3.WE20 --> Partner Profile
4.BD64 --> Customer Distribution Model.
If this information helps you, Rewards the points.

Hi sranaya,
For ALE settings in R3 system,its better if you follow the sequence of Tcode --> SALE. It contains all the necessary ALE settings transactions with sequence. So better , follow this only.
Otherwise
1. SM59 --> RFC Destination
2. WE21 --> Port Definition
3. WE20 --> Partner profile
4. BD64 --> Distribution Model

Hi Saranya,
i'm not agree with sumith... because File to Idoc or Idoc to file any thing for both we need to do some ALE configuration in R/3 system.. only the thing.. is BD64(Create Distribute model ) is not a mandatory thing in File to Idoc scenario and .. we need to configure Inbound parameters in the partner profile .....and where as IDOC to File means.. we need to configure Outbound parameters in the partner profile
the main thing is Idoc to File means we need to trigger the Idoc in the R/3 itself.. for that you need to go for a Change pointers concept (RBDMIDOC) or Executable Programs..(BD10, BD12, BD14,... ect)
any doubts plz revert me...if this is helpful assign points..
Thanks

Hi Sarany,
For File-IDOC scenario we wont be doing anything in XI with the following T-Code WE20/WE21/BD64.
Where as for IDOC-File we would be using the above mentioned T-Code in the SAP system.
Check out this guide -
