Agentry 73.x Client has connected with a SAML connection, what is the purpose of the reload button?

Hello Experts,

I am working with a customer who has started their migration of their Work Manager application to ACE from on-premise SMP.   They have enabled SAML with Principal Propagation and have noticed that after a successful sync with their iOS and WPF Agentry Clients (version 73.x) that the logout button, that used to be on the about screen/menu is replaced by a button called "Reload".  I have searched the available documentation provided by SAP and could not find any additional info.  From my observations in the past, this button has appeared to renew the connection by reconnecting to the SAML configured portal and does not log the user out at all, the user seems to be logged out only when the connection from BTPms has been broken or expired.

So, my questions are:

  1. What is the intended use of the "Reload" button when SAML/SSO is configured for an ACE application?

  2. What should the new logout procedure I should share with my customer to train their users?

Agentry SAP Mobile Platform SDK SAP Mobile Services

Agentry Client Version: 73.x

Client Platforms: iOS, WPF

Your responses/suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you,

Patrick.

Log Out in SAML mode

Since there is no Login screen to return to, the ability to log out of the client is removed in SAML mode. Exit action steps will be no-ops. The Log Out button on the module menu is replaced with a Reload button, which will log the user out and immediately log them back in. The prompt to log out when the device timezone changes will be changed to prompt for reload.

thank you for your reply. What would happen in the case where a user shares a device and user B must enter their credentials to use the client? Because user A's credentials are still valid, even on a reload.

The standard mechanism for switching users is not supported in SAML mode.Switching users will only be possible by resetting the client user data.
