Advance in the Process after parallel split

Hello Experts,

I am modelling a BPM process, where I  have a parallel split of task into 3 channels(all human activities) and then joining them. Now, I want that if a particular  branch completes its activity, and others are in process(not yet complete), the workflow should allow and move ahead with the process and not wait for other branches to finish.

Do I have to cancel the other task using Force Completion Patterns?

Kindly suggest better way of achieving this.

Thanks Heaps.

you have to detail your scenario/requirement

what will happen if second is finished?

if no restriction, you just don't use the controlled the merge, then you can go, what is stopping you?

Hi Jun,

Is it a good idea to use an uncontrolled merge after a parallel split? I guess each parallel split should have a corresponding parallel join.

Is my understanding correct?

all depends your scenario

Hi Jun,

My detailed scenario is:

1. There is a parallel split in 3 channels A,B,C

2. C is the most important branch of all

3. At merge point, if C decides to move ahead and not wait for A and B, he should be allowed to do     that.A and B are terminated.

4. If, A and B arrives at merge point before C, then the workflow will have its default behavior and will wait for C.

Kindly suggest the approach.

Thanks Heaps.

Hi Jun,

Thanks for the reply.

I have got the solution and your diagram was very helpful. Just FYI, the process will still work as desired even if its not embedded and parallel split after Activity C is removed.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks Heaps.
