ADSO Object Activation

Hi,

I have come across a situation  when I add a new info object in an ADSO as non key field  and activate.

It shows activate in in BW modeling in Hana Studio. But when I go to GUI and check it still shows as non-active.

I have to drop existing data to activate my ADSO.

I feel this is strange when I add an non keyfield into a ADSO.  Why should I drop all data in ADSO to add non key field.

Hi,

       1 ) When you add a new info object as non key field and activate the ADSO it will show ADSO is activated in Hana Studio.

       2) When you add a new info object as key field and activate the ADSO it will show as activate but throws a warning saying that remodeling required or ADSO must be remodeled during activation.

       3) If you want to remodel the ADSO then ADSO should not contain any data.

                   T-code : RSCNV_MONITOR is correct one for remodeling ADSO.

You can simply add new info object  to ADSO without deleting or dropping the data.

If all the key figures are in overwrite mode then no need to drop the data also you can simply load the historical data old data will get overwritten and the value will get populated in new field.

If you do not need historical data then you can decide a cut off date since then data will be available for that new field.

No need to reinitialize.

If this ADSO is being used in some composite providers then they will also get deactivated so you need to activate them as well.

As soon as you will add the new info object in ADSO and after activating it will generate log which will have detailed information about the objects which got de-activated.

You can note it down as it will help you track the changes and make smooth transports.

Note : As this is a sensitive task. please be careful before doing such sensitive tasks..if data changes occurs it will reflect to all the places where ever you used that ADSO.

Sorry for  my late response.

I agree on your point one.  ADSO will be activated in Hana Studio.

I'm using BW transformation to load into another ADSO in SAP GUI.

When I add new field , without deleting data , I'm not able to open my transformation as it says ADSO is not is in active version.

But in Hana studio its activated.

Hi Prashanth,

When you add a new non key field to ADSO in HANA studio and try to activate it will show that  ADSO is activated but in warning it will show like this..

but in backend only the transformation is inactive but not ADSO....

can you share the screen shots of how you modeled this scenario...and the error your facing..

Hi Prashant,

I am suspecting you're missing request number activation step in RSCNV_MONITOR tcode! once remodeling is done in RSA1 post activation you'll get log there you find request number which is used for activation.

I was wrong , may be I must have accidentally tried to add key field.

ADSO will not get deactivated when you add non key feild.
