Hello,

CR for VS is known as the Basic version. To be able to add objects you need to use RAS ( Report Application Server ). There are multiple versions of RAS. Getting a full version of Crystal Reports 2008 will give you the ability with an inProc version of RAS.

Only other option is to add all of the objects and delete the ones you don't want to use.

The link Bhushan added is for RAS.

Is that Crystal Report Server RAS Embedded will consume huge memory to process a report.

we need to retrieve 5,00,000 records from datasource and bind it in cr viewer.

Is Crystal report server is feasible for this scenario?

CRSE is a RAS Server and only for OEM Partners use and it runs crystalras.exe in task manager. InProc RAS runs in memory only.

5 million records is not that much unless you are trying to use DataSets in which case there is no way. Set Location to XML or hit the database directly.

Are you an OEM Partner and do you have a Support Contract?
