Add custom field to F0718 - Post General Journal Entries Fiori App

Hi,

I'm trying to add a custom field to the Fiori app F0718 - Post General Journal Entries using UI adaptation/In-app extensibility. We are on S/4HANA 2022 FPS02 Private Cloud.

I've created the custom field in the correct business context Accounting: Coding Block as mentioned in the app documentation

I've also enabled the custom field for the relevant OData of the app in the UIs and Reports section and published the field:

FAC_GL_DOCUMENT_POST_SRV

I can see that the field is published and is available in the backend.

However, when I open the app F0718 - Post General Journal Entries and enter the UI adaptation mode, there's no option to add this field or any custom field for that matter to the items section. I do not get the option to add a field when I click/right-click anywhere on the expanded items section.

Is there something more that needs to be done to be able to add this field to the app UI using UI adaptation for this app? Please guide.

With the link you had shared for extensions of General Ledger postings, you might be on the right track. There, you'll find a navigation link "Making UI Changes". Please follow that link as it points to important restrictions and considerations, like:

• Possible actions depend on the type of UI element (fields, groups, sections, and so on) and the container that the UI element is part of;
• The list of fields available for adding may vary depending on the context. This means that certain fields are only available for certain object types but not for others. 
• To use a custom field, you have to restart the app and the UI adaptation mode.

Hi Andreas, Thanks for answering. I've followed all the links and restrictions you've mentioned. There's no option to add a custom field in that app. If it's possible to add a custom field like you said, can you please try and share a screenshot of a custom field added to this app F0718? I've read the theory but practically it does not work as per the theory for this app. Regards, Saurabh
