Actual & Plan data reports-

Hi all,

I need to generate a sales report - Acutal/ Plan. The actual Version data is coming from Actaul Cube and Plan version from plan cube. We have a multi provider on the top of the actual & plan cubes and build the report on the multiprovider.

What is the requirment for ACUTAL cube when I build it so I can generate a report displaying 'actual data' and plan data? I think that the ACTUAL cube has to contain the same the numbers fo CHARs and KFs as PLANNING cube, right? Currently the Actual and Plan CUBEs don't have the same CHARs and KFs. When I run the report, the actul and plan data are in the seperate line items. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you.

Build two rkfs - restrict them by either the infoprovider or a partioning characterstic - ie version, value type etc

Hi Ryan,

I think, you know most of this, but I would like to reaffirm the following -

I did not understand the point of having a multiprovider when all the characterisitics of the infoproviders in it are disparate. Since the multiprovider usus union, the only advantage would be you would see entries in both the cubes but they would be on seperate lines.

To have the key figures of both the cubes in one line you would need to have a report built on commmon characteristics and key figures on two seperate cube.

Even with value type and version, I think, you would be restricted to have your report with only these two characteristics in rows and the key figures in columns to see them in the same line... but I am sure this would make little business sense.

I think you need to find out the reason for this report and have common characteristics , based on whic user would like to compare actual with plan data.

Hi Sunmit,

I thought that you can run a actual/plan report on the MP as long as the transaction has common CHARs but different KFs. EX:

CUST#, MATERIAL #, PLANT# , HIER 1, SALES QTY , Sales price

1000, 000001, S1, H1, 10000 ( in the Acutal CUBE)

1000, 000001, S1, H1, $5 ( in the Plan CUBE)

The query will be as following:

1000, 000001, S1, H1, 10000 (RKF/ from Acutal cube), $5 (RKF/ from planning cube)

Please correct me if I am wrong.

I believe Sunmit is right. You will get 2 different records in that case instead of a single record.
