active version of generic DS not available as 3.x?

hello all,

I have created a generic datasource and replicated it on BW side as 3.x Datasource. And then when I try to create transformation it says active version of emulated datasource in not available. SO i go and try to activate the DS but the activate button is greyed out even in change mode.

Can someone explain what do we have to do here?

If I replicate it as datasource (7.0) then it replcates as active version.

Thanks,

Kiran

Hi

To receive an active version of the emulated DataSource, you must assign the 3.x DataSource to a 3.x InfoSource. You must maintain the transfer rules and select "PSA" as the transfer method.

When you activate the transfer rules, the system generates the transfer structure and a PSA. Then, the 3.x DataSource is emulated and is available as an active version.

Alternatively, you can migrate the 3.x DataSource, that is, permanently convert it to the (new) DataSource (R3TR RSDS). After the activation, you can assign the DataSource directly to a transformation.

However, note that you can no longer use this DataSource to model a 3.x data flow with transfer rules.

Hope it Helps
