Activation of DSO thru Process chain gets failed

Hi all,

In BI7.0 I am using a process chain to load the data to a DSO. The proces flow is start -> Execute infopackage -> DTP -> Activate DSO data.

The chain is executed fine till the last step - Activate DSO data. It gets failed. But I am able to activate the DSO data manually.

Can someone throw some light on the solution for this issue?

Regards,

R.Ravi

Have you checked the DUMP is ST22 ?

It could be because of some parallel process

Hmm.....

Above +

Check "Activate Variant DSO" definition in "Parallel Processing" button available and reduce it from 3 to 1 and try..

goto transaction RSODSO_SETTINGS >Enter your DS> Press "execute action" on the "Change runtime parameters" option.

Parameters for activation-->Change Process Params -->set to DIALOG with the server group = "parallel_generators"

Parameters for SID Generation>Change Process Params>set to DIALOG with the server group = "parallel_generators"

Remove the option in "Parallel Processing" for background .

Hope it Helps

Hi Chetan,

I have already made that settings and have changed the number of process to 1 in all the three setting under RSODSO_SETTINGS and have made it to dialog, but still it has the same problem. The DSO is getting activated manually but with process chain it fails to activate.

The error message is as below:

Resource error. No batch process available. Process terminated

Time limit exceeded. No return of the split processes

Activation of M records from DataStore object 0CRM_OPPH terminated

Please suggest.

Error message talks abt Batch processes,it shows that activation is still in DIALOG process ..have you double checked it.if YES in this case put both the processes activation and sid generation to background processes and increase processes to 3 each.

Hope it Helps

Hi Ravi,

We had the same problem. The problem is with Kernal Support pack. Try the new kernel 75 to resolve this issue.

Srikanth.

Hi Chetan,

I tried that option also and changed the processes to 3 each with background processing, still it fails with ABAP PROCESSOR error. Any other suggestion.

Hi Srikanth,

What do you mean by Kernel 75 support pack and what i need to do to install the same.

Hi Ravi,

Try to change the settings of the Variant ODS activation process type (Parallel Process Settings) in each process chain for each ODS separately and change it to dialog with parallel generators with number of processes to 2 each for activation and SID.

Save the variant and come back and execute the process chain. It should work.
