Hi

I have one syntax error when writing ABAP.

I have variable 'A' whose value is 'LONDON'.I want to write a statement which removes first three letters and inserts 'XYZ' so the result becomes 'XYZDON'.

Please advise how to write this as I am getting syntax error.

Thanks

Hi Simon,

CONCATENATE 'XYZ' A+3(3) INTO A.

Hi,

FIRST declare two variables say A and B of type char.

Data: A type c(3),

         B type c(7).

A=/bic/<sourcefield>+3(3).

Concatenate 'XYZ'  A into B.

Result = B.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

AL
