Welcome to the ABAP forum! This forum is intended for discussions about ABAP development. Questions and answers(!), suggestions, hints, example coding, etc.... regarding typical ABAP programming topics are welcome as discussions about the ABAP Objects language itself and its concepts. All kinds of ABAP related topics can be handled except Business Server Pages which has its own forum. It is also not a forum for application specific (R/3 Enterprise, CRM, BW,...) questions. Note that the forum is not an official support channel, please use the OSS for reporting error messages to SAP.
Bar Coding
I have to create a process document which is going to be printed. Is there a way in SAP Scripts or Smart Forms to get some info from the database and print a bar code on the form.

Hello,
I am using an interactive ALV grid. For a single field in the table I have enabled a dropdown list. Now i want to vary the contents of the dropdownlist on row level. This is not possible with method set_drop_down_table because this sets the dropdowntable for every row in grid to same values.
Is there a way to set the dropdowntable on a row based level?
Tnx
Emile

Abit of confuse over here.. does BASIS & ABAP programming means the same thing?

Trond is absolutely correct! This forum is intended for ABAP programming only. It is monitored by the ABAP language group, the people who build the language, compiler, debugger, tools etc.
They are not experts in general Basis topics like spool, RFC, Workflow, Smart Forms, etc.
While I admit that the question how to use a specific basis feature like sending mails from within an ABAP program is an "ABAP programming" question, please don't expect to get an answer of the SAP ABAP language group, regarding such topics. It's just not their field of expertise.
But anyway this is an open forum and not a one way channel so everyone is invited to post responses to such questions.
Anyway general basis topics are handled best in the Web AS forum. Remember
good old Basis + SAP J2EE Server = Web AS

Hi Folks !
dose someone know what is the table name which handle all the code of ABAP Programms ?
i mean to lines of the code itself .

TRDIR gives the general attributes of a program, not the actual code lines...
My suspicion is that this is a closely guarded secret that only a few, select members of the inner SAP ABAP freemason's community knows about. The table name is probably passed on from member to member via a secret ritual, possibly during some annual top secret internal ABAP congress held in the dungeons under Walldorf.
I've tried to debug SE38, but to no avail. Also, even a simple transaction like SE38 is now object-based, which of course makes things even more difficult to debug/trace.
I guess we'll never know unless someone bothers to run an SQL to check the contents of all the SAP tables on the operating system level...

Well, I actually stumbled across what seems to be a good candidate for further exploration: table REPOSRC stores program data including a field named DATA ("Source Code (Compressed)"). However, even though this is a transparent table, you cannot view the contents (error message pops up explaining that this view is write-protected...) I assume we'll have to log on to the SQL tool that comes with miniSAP and check the table there.

Hello overthere,
I 'm currently looking to find a system on which I could train my ABAP programming skills so what I'm looking for is a course on ABAP that I can immediately transform into practice by exercicing on a teaching environment. Does anyone can help me?

I recommend the book "ABAP Objects: Introduction to Programming SAP Applications
" by Horst Keller and Sascha Kruger. It contains the CDs for your own SAP system ( WebAS ABAP formerly known as Basis system) so that you can try everything yourself.
For playing around with the latest ABAP server version, the Web AS 6.20 ABAP is also available at the SAP shop http://www.sap.com/shop ->Knowledge Shop -> General -> Web AS

Hello,
If you are a Linux user, you can order a Linux Test Drive of the Web AS 6.10 for free from:
http://www.sap.com/solutions/netweaver/linux/eval/was/
Best regards
