A question about brdb6brt

Hi!

I see from this link:

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20bd5cee-dabe-2910-fb97-c082a7c9...

on page 37-38:

Redirected restore

To perform a redirected restore, USE the tool brdb6brt that retrieves a database backup and

creates a CLP script for the restore of this backup image. For more detailed information on how

to use the tool brdb6brt, see the documentation Database Administration Guide: SAP on

IBM DB2 Universal Database for UNIX and Windows section Usage of Tool brdb6brt and the IBM DB2

documentation DB2 Command Reference.

You CANNOT use tool brdb6brt to perform a redirected restore.

My question is that why it first says that you CAN use tool brdb6brt to perform a redirected restore.

Then immediately it says that you CANNOT use tool brdb6brt to perform a redirected restore?

Thanks!

Hi Jennifer,

the 2nd statement is misleading. It should say:

brdb6brt does not perform the redirected restore itself. You need to execute the generated CLP script using db2 -tvf <brdb6brt script>
