Hi everyone,

My name is Inna Tokarev and I’m a Solution Architect in the HANA Co-Innovation Lab Israel (COIL) headed by Mike Kemelmakher. The COIL belongs to HANA Applications and Platform department led by SVP Jacob Klein. As a part of my role I coordinate the Israeli chapter of the Global SAP Start Up Focus Program.

This is a very exciting role and it’s a lot of fun – getting familiar with new companies, technologies, products and solutions, not to mention meeting the brightest and most innovative minds in the Israeli tech community.

The Global Start Up Program focuses on the HANA appliance eco-system development in multiple locations: Berlin, Tokyo, Beijing, Sydney, Paris, Seattle, Toronto and Los Angeles, just to name few. More than 600 companies are in the pipeline for each application cycle. 100 are chosen to participate in the Boot Camp and receive training from HANA experts. In case they choose to implement integration with HANA appliance, we sign MNDA and provide a development HANA license on the Amazon Cloud and the services and infrastructure of the local Co-Innovation Lab. 20-30 companies will be chosen to participate in a major event – the next one is SAPPHIRE NOW Madrid, and will be featured to the 50,000 SAP customers, analyst, bloggers and industry experts. The Start Up Focus program is supported by the SAP Global Marketing team and leverages existing sales, social networks and other promotion channels to resonate the exciting solutions developed by the Start Ups. Each company that enters the boot camp is estimated to benefit the equivalent of $65,000.

Last July we had the first application cycle round. Erez Sobol described the process in his recent blog. Ten companies were selected to enter the program: C-B4, GreenSQL, Flash Networks, PrimeQue, Senexx, Valire, Pursway, ClickTale, MyThings, cPattern. Later we added Mobideo and Weissbeerger to the pack. An impressive gang indeed. And we already have nearly 50 companies in the pipeline for the next round.

What is also pretty awesome in my role is to get exposed to trends and new solutions developed worldwide: a lot of Internet companies in US, Social Networks in Europe and ecommerce platforms in Asia.
