As part of SAP's commitment to extending the intelligent enterprise to the cloud, three new powerful tools have just launched as services in SAP HANA Cloud this week:
- SAP HANA Cloud, adaptive server enterprise - Provides extreme online transaction processing in addition to the real-time analytical capabilities offered in SAP HANA Cloud
- SAP HANA Cloud, adaptive server enterprise replication - Provides all of the core SAP Replication Server technologies for data replication
- New IQ component in SAP HANA Cloud, data lake - Provides high-performance analysis for petabyte volumes of relational data
And for customers already using the on-premise versions of these powerful solutions (you'd know them informally as
ASE,
SRS, and
IQ), help is available to migrate or extend your systems to the new cloud versions.

A quick note about service names in SAP HANA Cloud
You may have noticed already, but service names in SAP HANA Cloud now adhere to a strict form that may take some getting used to.
Firstly, full names are prefixed with "
SAP HANA Cloud," (notice the comma in there?). Secondly, you'll notice that the service name part is in lower case; for example,
SAP HANA Cloud, data lake.
In introductory paragraphs in the documentation where we typically refer to services by their full names, these naming conventions may slow down your reading comprehension until you get used to them. However, in non-introductory paragraphs, we use the shortened form of the name (e.g., 'data lake'), which you'll find much easier to read.
Okay, with that explained... have a cloudy day!
