At SAPPHIRE NOW Madrid I had the honor of interviewing Robert Kapenen about SAP's fascinating program for startups. There are now over 150 companies that are using technologies such as SAP HANA to avoid problems generated by traditional data-crunching methods. Tongue in cheek, I asked Robert why these innovative startups would want to work like an "old" company like SAP (which recently celebrated its 40th anniversary).
[I apologize for the problems with the video quality]
I also interviewed two of the startups that were attending the show. The first person I talked to was Antoine Durieux, the CEO of Jérome, a great 4-person french startup that combines semantic analysis with structured information to help shoppers buy the ingredients they need for online recipes.
I then followed up with Iain Wilcox of Ostia Solutions, with an innovation approach to "rapdly extracting information from anywhere"
If you are a startup, or you're an enterprise interested in looking at truly interesting new ideas for inspiration, I encourage you to get more details about the SAP Startup Program.
