What sounds like some magical fantasy fiction will soon become reality in September, in Heidelberg, Germany. When you exit the Heidelberg train station, you almost immediately see a big silver metal horse in front of a huge futuristic glass cube – the “Print Media Academy”, a conference center and also one of Heidelberg’s famous landmarks (besides the also quite well-known castle, the old town, the Studentenkarzer (old student prison) and many more).
The “Print Media Academy” will be the home for this year’s SAP Solution Manager Education Summit 2018 EMEA, from September 18 to 21. This event is the most important event around SAP Solution Manager and SAP-centric Application Lifecycle Management.
Why? Let me give you a sneak peek at this year’s highlights …
On Tuesday, September 18, the SAP Solution Manager Education Summit 2018 (short: SolEd) kicks off with an opening keynote and a talk about SAP Solution Manager’s cloud strategy. I can’t go into details here, but I can promise that there will be some highly exciting news!
After the keynotes, the deep-dive sessions start, focusing on topics around SAP Solution Manager like SAP HANA, Agile & DevOps, SAP Leonardo and User Assistance / Documentation in four parallel running tracks. The day will close with multiple expert talk sessions, where you can directly discuss with SAP Solution Manager experts.
Wednesday, September 19, starts with a keynote about the build market in SAP Solution Manager. This will be followed by the InnoJam presentation (I’ll come back to this a little later). Then you can learn about SAP Solution Manager news and functionalities in deep-dive sessions, covering well-known topics like Process Management, Test Suite, Change Control Management and the brand-new Implementation Portal for SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
Again, the (formal part of the) day will end with Expert Talk sessions on functional SAP Solution Manager topics. And then it’s time to party! Following the motto “work hard – party hard!” you are invited to a spectacular evening event with great food and even greater views over Heidelberg from the bar and party location at the 12th floor of the Print Media Academy!
On the next day – Thursday, September 20 – you can refresh your spirits with a breakfast and then join the keynote focusing on the run market in SAP Solution Manager, directly followed by a customer-centric session about Focused Run. Afterwards, parallel content sessions will run, concentrating on Focus Build and Focus Run topics, as well as Application Operations, Business Process Operations and Custom Code Management. Closing the day – you’ll guess it already – will be Expert Talk sessions.
Friday, September 21, sadly already is the last day of the SAP Solution Manager Education Summit 2018! Yet another keynote in the morning, followed by information about SAP’s Next Generation and Simple Support. Afterwards, more sessions and Expert Talks will provide insights into topics like Service Delivery, EWA and monitoring of hybrid landscapes. After lunch (of course, there is lunch every day!) the event will be rounded up with a keynote and a panel discussion.
Earlier, I have mentioned the InnoJam, which will happen for the first time at a SolEd in Europe ever! For our InnoJam – well known from SAP TechEd and other events – we invite customers or partners to show innovative solutions brought to life with SAP Solution Manager 7.2. If you have done anything special or extraordinary (like, for example, built a shiny dashboard on top of SAP Solution Manager or created your own add-on functionality), please don’t hesitate to hand it in it for InnoJam! A panel of SAP experts will review all submissions and will choose three finalists, who get the chance to showcase their innovative solutions in front of a large audience during the keynote on September 20!
What else can you expect around the silver horse?
The SAP Solution Manager Education Summit is famous and well-known for bringing people together: customers, partners and experts from SAP. This is the perfect networking spot for direct discussions with SAP Solution Manager development experts, product management and senior executives!
