Hi ,

My name is Gad Ravid from SAP Labs Israel. After many years in Business by Design and some projects before especially in the area of SCM/Logistics I am now working as solution expert in Visual Composer group in IMS (Installed Base Maintenance & Support) Israel.

Yes , VC (Visual Composer) is in IMS since we have hundreds of customers that use it to model business applications.

Lately, because of the increasing use of mobile devices for business applications and along the development of SAP UI5 (SAP HTML5) we have started an exciting new project :Enable VC to create SAP UI5 run application.

Currently VC knows how to create WDJ and Flex apps and SAP UI5 is the goal of the project.

What's so great about it?

VC is a great tool, it always was a great tool but it was invented too early. It is a great tool that enables the customer to create rapidly, by himself any app he needs.

A short meeting between the one that heeds the app and the business expert that knows to use the tool, and that's it.

In a very short time the app should be ready and running and with SAP UI5 it will run everywhere. It will run on any OS, any device, in SAP Mobile portal, in SAP Cloud Portal, as a standalone app.

It will look great. Native dev. will look better probably but hey! , It will cost much more, will take more time to develop and not sure that the finished app will remind the requirements created by the customer

With VC you can change and update the app along the way. Open VC which is part of NetWeaver , go to your model and improve it, change it , make it nicer and deploy it .

it's fun, easy and you can do it by your own.

In this movie you can see an app I created based on an idea we got from a customer. It took me 1 hour to model it. What do you say?

Here is a link to some great stuff Yariv wrote about VC and this entire concept lately

That's it for now. I hope you will have the chance to see what I'm talking about in the coming TECHEDs in Madrid and Bangalore and if you need any more info just contact me.
