For corporate IT professionals, no topic is more important than security in the new world of mobile and cloud computing. And now, SAP offers a new solution that provides not only peace of mind, but also incredible ease of use. It’s called SAP Mobile Secure, and it is an update to the former SAP Afaria solution.SAP Mobile Secure is mobile device management (MDM) solution that offers cutting-edge app security and streamlined mobile content management. It is fully integrated with SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, our industry-leading cloud computing service. In addition, SAP Mobile Secure is part of our new Monsoon service, which allows customers to get their own server in the cloud in a matter of minutes.

A New Environment

In the past, SAP Mobile Secure was hosted externally. But last November it was decided that it should be an internally-hosted solution. By February, our development team had already established a test environment. And by June, just in time for SAPPHIRE NOW Orlando, we launched with our first pilot customer.

Ease of Use

For end-users, SAP Mobile Secure delivers a consumer-grade solution that removes complexity, promotes collaboration, and enables discovery. It’s seamless. It’s user-friendly. And it’s virtually foolproof. Behind the scenes, SAP Mobile Secure allows IT administrators to establish detailed device and app-level security policies in minutes. IT professionals can deploy complex system landscapes and control network traffic through a dashboard – and through APIs. And, they can extend computing and storage
resources as needed for the business.

Full Support

SAP Mobile Secure is backed by 24/7 support, and offers a robust self-service portal. There is also a vibrant community of internal and external users who share cookbooks and readymades, including SAP business solutions. To reduce latency, SAP Mobile Secure runs in three locations: Europe, Eastern U.S., and Western U.S.

More to Come

Future enhancements to SAP Mobile Secure will include load balancing for one or more instances, as well as an Internet-facing network zone.
