As you probably heard, SAP HANA SPS09 was released last week, and this is exciting news for anyone working with streaming event data. This release of SAP HANA introduces a new capability: smart data streaming. This adds high speed event stream processing to the SAP HANA platform, allowing HANA application to incorporate the ability to collect, analyze and respond to streams of event data - as fast as things happen.

For those of you who are already regulars in the SAP ESP Developer Center, you'll notice a name change: the Smart Data Streaming Developer Center. SAP HANA smart data streaming and SAP Event Stream Processor (ESP) are both built from the same technology, so they'll be sharing this developer center.
