SAP Crystal Server 2013 Priority One support will be ending on 31 Dec 2020 so now it’s a good time to start planning your migrations to either SAP Crystal Server 2016 or to the next versions of SAP Crystal Reports and SAP Crystal Server that will be released in Q2 2020. SAP Crystal Reports 2020 will have additional features added and SAP Crystal Server 2020 will be based on the latest Business Objects Enterprise version BI4.3 that is due to be generally available (GA) in Q2 2020.
SAP Crystal Server
Along with the release of SAP Crystal Server 2016, a new license was introduced. The new license, named SAP Crystal Server, is available with both named user and concurrent session options. The new SAP Crystal Server license gives customers access to SAP Crystal Server 2016 or SAP Crystal Server 2020 with an active maintenance contract, access to subsequent service packs and versions.
This new license also now includes access to Crystal Reports with each named user license and unlimited publishing with Concurrent Sessions, both of which were previously chargeable add-ons.
Additional details for the new license are listed in this table:

All Other Features |
To get access to the new features in SAP Crystal Server 2016 or higher customers will need to purchase the new SAP Crystal Server license through either SAP partners or the SAP Store.
Customer who have a current maintenance contract for CS2013 can upgrade their software version to CS2016 and they will continue to have access to technical support for the timelines of CS2016. However, the new features delivered in CS2016 will not be unlocked as new licenses will need to be purchased to access those new features. The same applies if a customer does a technical upgrade to CS2020 when it is GA later in Q2.
If customers need more than 100 Named User and/or 50 Concurrent Sessions, they should consider SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI software which is the business intelligence (BI) choice for small and mid-sized companies. SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI has increased capabilities over SAP Crystal Server and can address any BI requirement in a package that's easy-to-use, easy-to-maintain and cost-effective including:
- Pixel-perfect enterprise reporting
- Flexible ad hoc query reporting and analysis
- Dashboards and visualization
- Information search and exploration
- Integration with Microsoft Office applications
- Mobile access to rich reports and analytics
