In our fast-paced world, many innovators are struggling to keep up with their backlog of great ideas for new solutions. It is impossible to create something new just in passing, while daily business keeps us occupied. At the same time, innovation cycles become shorter and shorter.

So how can you reach creative, yet rapid outcomes under such circumstances?

This was the question that triggered the design and launch of Hack2Build! Hack2Build is SAP’s approach to help our partners start their innovation journey with a tangible prototype and then build a full-fledged business solution to create value for customers leveraging SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP).

It all starts with the solution ideas from our partners. The partners bring these use cases to a hackathon-like week of collaboration with SAP experts. The week closes with a demo jam, in which partners demonstrate their working prototypes live to SAP executives and experts. This time-boxed, focused approach is the booster to create outcomes rapidly. The demo jam marks a first milestone at the beginning of the innovation journey and fuels the project with the momentum to move forward.

And forward is the direction to go: our mission is only completed if the partner prototypes are turned into commercial offerings, get adopted by the market and ultimately deliver value to our joint customers.

The year 2022 has seen more drive for innovation than ever before:

  • In over a dozen Hack2Builds, more than 150 use cases/solution prototypes were turned into coded prototypes in the first six months of this year.

  • More than 100 participating companies across all partner types had joined: global and regional partners, value-added resellers, system integrators and independent software vendors alike. They developed side-by-side extensions for SAP S/4HANA and SAP SuccessFactors HXM, built end-to-end processes with SAP Integration Suite, created SAP Analytics Cloud dashboards, and much more.

Expect more to come in the second half of the year.
