From October 25th to 29th a new successful #Hack2Build event took place, this time in a joint operation between North America (NA) and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Themed on SAP SuccessFactors Extensions built on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). Using Low-code or No-code apps to build the prototypes, powered by SAP AppGyver, partners had the opportunity to show great applications built in only a few days, making the innovative solutions tangible in a week’s time.

Partners from the NA and LAC region were invited and selected for this event.

#Hack2Build is an event series that takes the creativity and speed of a hackathon to the next level by creating a minimal viable solution offering in terms of an application, accelerator, or a solution package. The event series has been successfully running all over the world and this time it was hosted in Americas, both NA and LAC, to cater to the innovative partner ecosystem.

All participants brought dedication, enthusiasm, creativity and delivered compelling solutions in just 5 days.

The Participating Companies

#Hack2Build Americas October 2021 Participants

We were happy to welcome nine SAP partner companies with over 50 experts participated in this edition of the #Hack2Build: Axento, Blueprint Technologies, CSTI Corp, Dextera HR, Ernst & Young, HRizons, Intelligenza, iXerv/TSP and TCS.

Every #Hack2Build event demonstrates the innate innovation potential of SAP’s ecosystem, driven by their close association with SAP products and technologies and servicing customer needs over many years. Enabled by the no-code platform SAP AppGyver and the numerous APIs available on SAP SuccessFactors, each partner demonstrated a clear value proposition with their ideas arising from the challenges they observe with our joint customers planning needs and aspirations.

It was an amazing collaboration across SAP teams and the partners to discuss the concepts, evaluate their architecture, product and roadmap questions and analyze their business plans as part of the prototype phase. Within 5 days, the partners were able to prototype and showcase their innovations to an esteemed panel of judges. Although all participating teams had the potential to win, the jury had to determine the winners based on key criteria.

Demo Jam and the Panel of Judges

All participants made it to the final Demo Jam and showcased their inspiring innovative solutions to the audience. With only 10 minutes to present the Business Case and the functioning Prototype running on SAP BTP and integrating to SAP SuccessFactors, they had an intense morning aiming to impress the Jury.

The Panel of Judges came from a diverse perspective and consisted of four SAP Senior Leaders:

After the demonstration morning, they were all amazed with the high quality of the partner prototypes and provided their insights and shared their feedback to the partner use cases.

The Winners

Winner: Tata Consultancy Services

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) created the winning solution Employee Transfer Plan Simulation. The solution provides organizations with policy-oriented solutions which takes in account organization rules, employee preferences and handles the complexity in bulk periodic transfers. This complex management is done by an application running on SAP BTP and integrates to SAP SuccessFactors by the standard APIs.

First Runner-up: Dextera HR

Dextera HR showcased an application which monitors and controls all positions budgets and integrates it with any third-party controlling system. Whenever there’s an update to a budget the application synchronizes them.

Second Runner-up: iXerv/TSP

iXerv/TSP developed a Document Tracking Bot. By tackling the recruitment and onboarding areas, the solution automatically tracks, requests and, after the user submits through the app, uploads the candidate’s documents to SAP SuccessFactors. This is a very cumbersome task that although simple requires a lot of time of the company’s HR.
