On Friday of this week, I joined SAP’s Doug Freud at the first Northern Illinois University SAP Student Conference. Doug was the featured speaker for the event.
The conference was sponsored by NIU’s Operations Management and Information Systems department and featured a speaker from SAP Business Partner TechEdge. The primary purpose of the session was to share inspirational stories of how advanced SAP technology is making a difference in the business world that students will be entering upon graduation. NIU offers a number of SAP courses for students in several major disciplines.
Doug Freud is an executive in the SAP HANA Global Center of Excellence and he is responsible for developing strategies/solutions around predictive and big data that in turn provide intelligent enterprise solutions for SAP customers. His comments centered on the amazing advances in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and advanced analytics that are enabling so many breakthrough business improvements. He shared a number of insights and suggested learning opportunities for the students in attendance.
The TechEdge speaker shared several customer use case stories where SAP solutions have been implemented including the San Francisco 49ers Executive Huddle that was recently deployed in California. The secret behind Executive Huddle is a variety of SAP technologies that provide flexibility and a foundation for continuous innovation. Executive Huddle utilizes SAP Leonardo technology, including SAP Analytics Cloud running on SAP Cloud Platform, as well as the SAP HANA database.
