One more time a new release of the Cloud Connector with helpful features for many of you is out! As always you can download the Cloud Connector from here: tools.hana.ondemand.com. Of course, we recommend updating as soon as possible to be able to use the new features.

Let me start with the invisible pieces which have been changed:

Cloud Connector runs now also on Windows Server 2022 and as an underlying JDK we are now also supporting SAPMachine 11 (Prerequisites).

If we look more to the visible pieces you will see that we’ve extended the monitoring to give you more insights in the usage of the on-prem to cloud service channels. Another helpful change in the usage control monitor is the added persistency which will store the data that you have access to them even after a restart of the cloud connector.

Usage Statistics On-premise to Cloud

In the configuration of the cloud connector, you can find another helpful feature: it is now possible to modify parameters in the UI for which you formerly have needed file system access:

Configuration

Another long-awaited feature is the possibility to change the storage path for the audit files but also for the log and trace files. In the UI you can see the Location where these are stored:

storage location of Audit log

To modify them we offer some scripts as explained in the documentation (Audit Log, Log and Trace )

To make administration easier and more secure, especially in large environments with a lot of subaccounts, the additional role Subaccount administrator will help you to separate and delegate access to different persons (Use LDAP for Authentication)

As we also know that many of you configure the cloud connector not by using the UI but by APIs- therefore we’ve added more APIs to do that (Configuration REST APIs)

And as usual also internal fixes for several parts and security have been done which is another reason to update as soon as possible (see also Releasenotes)!
