Just ahead of SapphireNow 2016, The SAP ASE product group teamed up with EMC and its XtremIO team to collaborate on a project in the SAP Co-Innovation Lab Silicon Valley, seeking to highlight the incredible performance improvements achievable from combining the SAP® Adaptive Server® Enterprise (SAP ASE) 16 SP02 database server with the EMC XtremIO All-Flash Array.

If you missed this news, you can click in to Kevin Liu's blog for some further background on the project and you can and should grab up the whitepaper.

Should adding yet another whitepaper to the existing pile on your desk or nightstand not be so easy, then allow us to help you out with a video interview we did a few weeks ago. If you are in the industry then you know that EMC is now a part of Dell. The video was shot before the announcement from Dell so we went in to a little holding pattern until cleared to release.

In the video I am joined by Karl-Heinz Hoffman and Andrew Neugebauer from SAP along with David Brace formerly with XtremIO, EMC and now Dell, to talk about the project and results published in the whitepaper.

At the (small) risk of nearly becoming a short film,...this is a longer than average video but full of some super insight into the results and how the team worked to produce a positive outcome. If you are tasked to manage SAP ASE 16 SP02 and looking to take true advantage of its MemScale feature paired with Flash Storage; this is your channel.
