You are a SAP Identity Management customer and you are wondering how to downgrade the version of your Eclipse SAP Identity Management Developer Studio plug-in?

Then this is the right article for you!

This blog provides guidance on how to downgrade the version of your Eclipse SAP Identity Management Developer Studio plug-in.

There are two possible scenarios for changing the version of SAP Identity Management Developer Studio plug-in to a lower one.

The first scenario is valid for customers who have at least two different Eclipse installations with SAP Identity Management Developer Studio plug-ins on a different patch level, one of which is the appropriate  level. In that case, the plug-in can be installed from the Eclipse IDE that contains the needed version.

The second scenario is valid for customers who have updated Eclipse SAP Identity Management Developer Studio plug-in but want to revert it to a lower version.

Scenario 1:

To execute the first scenario, follow the steps bellow:

  1. Uninstall the existing SAP Identity Management Developer Studio plug-in by executing the following:

  • Navigate to the Help menu and select the About Eclipse option.

  • In the About Eclipse window, click ‘Installation Details’.

  • Find the SAP Identity Management Developer Studio plug-in version that you want to uninstall and choose and click ‘Uninstall’.

  • Follow the wizard steps to uninstall the plug-in.

  • At the end, you will be asked to restart your Eclipse.

  1. Install the desired version of SAP Identity Management Developer Studio plug-in by following the steps:

  • Navigate to the File menu and choose the Import option.

  • Click ’Install’ , choose ’From Existing Installation’ and click ‘Next’.

  • Select the ‘Browse’ button and navigate to the installation directory of Eclipse, where the plug-in is installed (installation directory could be either shared or transferred to the localhost). Click ‘OK’ and follow the steps.

  • Choose only ‘SAP Identity Management Developer Studio plug-in’ from the list, click ‘Next’ and follow the installation steps.

  • After you restart Eclipse, the plug-in will be installed.

Scenario 2:

To execute the second scenario, follow the steps below:

  • Navigate to the Help menu and select the About Eclipse option.

  • In the About Eclipse window, click ‘Installation Details’.

  • In the Eclipse Installation Details window, select the ’Installation History’ tab.

  • Choose the desired installation from the ‘Previous configurations’ list and click the ’Revert’ button.

  • Confirm your choice in the Revert Software Configuration window that appears.

  • After you restart Eclipse, the plug-in will be installed.
