How to disable GDPR – Data protection Pop-up Message in CMC, BILaunchpad, OpenDocument and Fiori BILaunchpad


In BI 4.2 SP05 GDPR Data protection Pop up message is mandated for all users as part of GDPR regulations for Data protection when logging to BILaunchpad, CMC, Fiori BILaunchpad and Open Document.

 



 

The Data Protection pop-up should not, and cannot be disabled proactively.  To ensure compliance with EU GDPR, all users of these applications must actively accept this message before proceeding.

 

By knowing GDPR Data protection message is mandate and still if customers want to disable this message then they will have an option to disable this Data protection Pop up from BI 4.2 SP05 Patch 3 onwards.

 

 

Steps to disable the GDPR – Data Protection Pop-up Message :


From BI 4.2 SP05 Patch 3 onwards Customers can turn off the GDPR Data protection Pop-up message globally for all users to all BIP Thin clients (BILaunchpad, CMC, Fiori BILaunchpad and Open Document).

This is specially so in the embedded use case when a document in opened through Open document link.

A new property named "disclaimer.enabled" is introduced and can be set to true/ false in the respective properties file to enable or disable the GDPR disclaimer pop up in the appropriate applications.

 

For individual applications, the property is set to false to disable the GDPR data protection Pop-Up message.

By default, "disclaimer.enabled" property is set to "true".

For OpenDocument, the changes need to be made in OpenDocument.properties.

For CMC, the changes need to be made in CMCApp.properties.

For BI Launchpad, the changes need to be made in Infoview.properties.

For Fiori BI Launchpad, the changes need to be made in FioriBi.properties.

 

Global switch to Turn off  GDPR Data protection Pop up message  for all users for Open Document :


 

  1. On a default Tomcat installation, navigate to the respective properties file: <BOE_HOME>\Tomcat\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config\default

    1. e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config\default



  2. Create a new file OpenDocument.properties and type(properties file) in the custom path:<BOE_HOME>\Tomcat\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config\custom

    1. e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config\custom



  3. Create a new property entry for disclaimer.enabled and set it to 'false', as follows:

    1. disclaimer.enabled=false



  4. Save the file.

  5. Restart Tomcat.

  1. On a default Tomcat installation, navigate to the respective properties file: <BOE_HOME>\Tomcat\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config\default

    1. e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config\custom



  3. Create a new property entry for disclaimer.enabled and set it to 'false', as follows:

    1. disclaimer.enabled=false



  4. Save the file.

  5. Restart Tomcat.

    1. e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config\custom



  3. Create a new property entry for disclaimer.enabled and set it to 'false', as follows:

    1. disclaimer.enabled=false



  4. Save the file.
