Jan-G Groeneveld and the SAP Mobile Platform team has launched SAP Mobile Platform: Enterprise Grade Mobility program and you can find answers to the questions above and others by attending the scheduled webinars and using the how to materials to develop a strategy and plan for enterprise ready mobile apps.
The first webinar in the series is scheduled for this Thursday July 11, 2013. The title is 'Introduction to Performance Topics for the SAP Mobile Platform' and you can register for the session here. Performance is one of the four categories of topics, the others include Supportability, Total Lifecycle Management, and Security. You can find all the scheduled webinar sessions for each category here.
Let's dive into the first category, Performance. This is a critical component for enterprise ready apps and includes the following areas of mobile application design and deployment planning:
- Sizing verification - How much hardware is needed to run my application(s)?
- Scalability - If more hardware is added, what higher load can be supported?
- Stability - How long will the system run uninterrupted without failure?
- Response times - Will system response times satisfy end user's requirements?
- Robustness - Will the system survive a temporary overload without going down?
