After 17 years (and 80+ countries, 3+ million miles), I’m leaving SAP for a new opportunity where I believe I’ll be able to have a more direct impact with customers, helping them get more value out of their SAP investments and start/continue their journeys to S/4HANA.
It’s been an amazing run and I’ve been incredibly lucky to work with such amazing colleagues, customers and partners all over the world for so long. I’ll still be “evangelizing” about SAP in books, podcasts and presentations and you’ll still see me at SAP events around the world, I’ll just have a different company name on my badge ?
Being part of a community of professionals who are so brilliant and passionate has been the absolute best part about working at SAP. I have been constantly challenged to get smarter, learn more, perform at a higher level and be a better person. The diversity of nationalities and perspectives on technology and society has been truly inspiring. So I want to thank everyone for allowing me to work with and learn from them over the years. It really has been a great honor.
Over my years at SAP, I've somehow always found myself working on the “next big thing”, out there on the edge, outside of SAP’s comfort zone, challenging the status quo. I’ve always tried to stay focused on what was always really important and always ask, “what's best for the customer?”. SAP’s greatest strength is its customers and seeing the positive impact that our solutions have on businesses of all sizes gives real meaning to the work we all do.
In addition to my new role, in my “spare” time, I’ll continue to feed my passion for sharing knowledge, through books, teaching and supporting academics around the world who are building the next generation of tech leaders. Knowledge is the only thing throughout history that has ever advanced society in a positive way, so capturing knowledge and spreading it far and wide is something I don’t think I’ll ever stop doing.
Thank you for being such great colleagues, customers and partners and inspiring me over the years. The SAP community is a rich and wonderful collection of passionate businesspeople and technologists and I’m honored to have had a role in promoting and expanding its impact and influence. I wish everyone continued success and look forward to seeing you at SAP events for many years to come.
So I won’t say goodbye, just
Tschüs for now.
