I’ve seen a couple posts in the past month that have pointed to a new openSAP course starting soon called Introduction to Mobile Solution Development for the Enterprise. If you’re not yet aware, it’s a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) open to anyone and will teach what it takes to make an enterprise-ready app with SAP Mobile solutions.
But I wanted to offer a different spin on this topic. Many of you are likely familiar with SAP’s Rapid Deployment Solutions (RDS), packages that combine preconfigured software and implementation services to get SAP customers up and running in a matter of weeks. What you may not know is that there is some overlap between what you can learn in the upcoming openSAP course and how you can apply that knowledge directly with the content available in the Mobile Apps & Infrastructure RDS.
One of the key components of the Mobile Apps & Infrastructure RDS is a step-by-step deployment guide for setting up and configuring a mobile landscape, leveraging the mobile SDK, and creating apps. This RDS is essentially designed for anyone wanting to get started with the SAP Mobile Platform and includes detailed best practices based on successful customer implementations. You can access these step-by-step deployment guides and best practices via the SAP Service Marketplace here.
Another way to think of these deployment guides and best practices? Think of them as hands-on labs that can go along with this new openSAP course on mobile development. They are based on much of the same principles and topics and really could be a good way to put your newfound openSAP knowledge to the test!
