Get an Exclusive Update on SAP Solution Manager 7.2

SAPPHIRE NOW and ASUG Annual Conference has reached its last day. One of the hot topics at the SAP Service and Support Center has been SAP Solution Manager and more specifically what will be new with the upcoming 7.2 release.

To get insight in SAP Solution Manager’s current product development and release planning, I have talked to our SAP experts at the respective information tables. Many customers visiting the conference in Orlando wanted to get more detailed information on how they can make the transition from SAP Solution Manager 7.1 to the upcoming new 7.2 release. Selected focus areas include content activation and solution documentation.

SAP Solution Manager 7.2 powers implementation and eases communication with the business and it continues to focus on operations and on IT. Selected highlights of 7.2 will be pragmatic business process management, business value through SAP Cloud adoption, and more SAP Solution Manager value through in-memory technology.

We can also share some good news for all SAP support customers regarding SAP HANA and SAP Solution Manager. Please note that this is a lab preview as well which means that this is the current state of planning and may be changed by SAP at any time:

• SAP Solution Manager 7.2 is the first release which leverages SAP HANA.
• The adoption of SAP HANA for SAP Solution Manager follows all SAP HANA transition standards.
• All customers with a valid SAP maintenance agreement can use SAP HANA as database for SAP Solution Manager. There is no additional SAP HANA licensing required.
• This extension of usage rights is especially valuable for customers who are:
  – SAP HANA only
  – in a transition phase to SAP HANA
  – paying maintenance for their SAP Solution Manager database.
