SAP is one of the main sponsors of the Business Cloud Summit in London on Thursday 29th November - an ideal opportunity for SAP to extend its Cloud message beyond the Sapphire and TechEd boundaries of Madrid and show the additional value that SAP offers for SAP and non-SAP customers alike.

In the past I have blogged on SAP's Cloud strategy for the Public Sector - and I shall be holding a SCN webinar on this on 12th December. But this time I want to use my blog to highlight some of the areas that we can expect Adrian Simpson, CTO of SAP UK, to cover when he is live, on stage taking part in "Cloud Conversations" on Thursday..

I'm expecting Adrian to outline the relevance of SAP's cloud strategy to all organisations - whether large or small.

SME's benefit from SAP's Cloud strategy to open up new niche markets and to offer value added services - see this blog: Cloud and SAP - Good for SMEs ! But small organisations also benefit from the fully functional, totally pre-integrated ERP suite of SAP Business ByDesign or, for the smallest of SMES, SAP Business One - getting a single point of access to Finance, Procurement, and all other core functions required to run their businesses. SAP Business ByDesign is also the ideal solution for On-Premise SAP customers who struggle to get their smaller subsidiaries up and running and connected quickly - even if they are internationally based.

Indeed recognising that Cloud solutions should be able to operate standalone but also integrate with On-premise and other Cloud solutions (whether SAP or non-SAP) is fundamental to SAP's Cloud strategy. SAP's Cloud sloutions optimise an organisation's critical assets - People, Money, Customers and Suppliers providing Line of Business solutions which are loosley coupled with each other - enabling these solutions to be implemented in which ever sequence suits the business needs of the individual organisation. And, what's more, SAP provides mobile and social, analytical and Hana in-memory computing capabilty with all its Cloud applications. In fact SAP Jam - the social collaboration tool has over 8 million users !

The recent acquisition of Ariba by SAP exploits the Cloud paradigm to extend integration well beyond a company's internal business boundary - establishing the world's most powerful trading network with almost one million connected companies. Think what the introduction of SAP innovations in the areas of social, mobile and in memory will bring - driving global business to business collaboration and even greater levels of innovation and insight. And SAP has also announced "rapid deployment solutions" that make it fast and simple for customers running SAP Business Suite to rapidly integrate with the Ariba business network.

We can also expect Adrian to describe how SAP is solving the traditional integration challenge by providing a seamless approach to integrating Cloud solutions that ultimately lowers cost, increases speed and enhances simplicity for customers. The approach is comprised of comprehensive standards-based APIs, pre-packaged integrations and robust integration tools — both on premise and Cloud-based. SAP provides prepackaged integration of SAP Cloud solutions with on-premise SAP applications, as well as with third-party Cloud solutions from key innovation partners. Customers can use the packaged integration scenarios as-is or create their own integrations

What's more - SAP is driving consumer choice, in addition to SAP integration technology, SAP also offers an open certification program to third-party integration platforms, such as Boomi, CastIron and Mulesoft, to integrate SAP Cloud solutions, using SAP standards-based APIs, to third-party on-premise and Cloud solutions.

We can expect Adrian to cover a lot on Thursday !
