Document Information Extraction
Document Information Extraction is one of the SAP
AI Business Services on the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). This ML-enabled service is available through the Cloud Platform Enterprise Agreement (CPEA) and also in the Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGO) model. With this blog post we want to announce that Document Information Extraction has been featuring the Free Tier service plan since
September, 2022.
Document Information Extraction enables enterprises to extract business-relevant entities (e.g. header fields or line items) from business documents. It is pre-trained for invoices, payment advice notes, purchase orders, and business cards. It offers also additional extension capabilities such as template-based processing for custom document types.
The business benefits include the possibility to process more documents with less errors and difficulties, to reduce the time-to-value, to increase quality and compliance mechanisms as well as let employees focus on value-adding and customer-facing tasks. Some common use cases are:
- Acceleration of supplier invoice processing
- Automation of sales order creation
- Support of HR admission & employee onboarding processes

SAP BTP Free Tier
SAP BTP Free Tier account enables you to build and test your scenarios with a straight -forward path from testing to productive usage. As opposed to "free trial" it will allow you to upgrade to paid service plans and move your projects to production easily.
To start using Document Information Extraction under the free tier model, you will need to register and create an account in SAP BTP. This account entitles you to use Document Information Extraction with a limited quota.

Limits
Please note that the free tier option for Document Information Extraction features a dedicated limited quota. Within these limits service is for free. For pricing details see
