Hi, my name is Anni Heitmann and I’m representing our team and application in the next Fiori Maker call –> I’m the IT Chief Product Owner for our new Fiori & HANA XSA based application FELIPE (Financial Engine for Local and International Projects and Engagements -> and yes: we had fun looking for a cool abbreviation ?).
FELIPE is a new Project Planning solution focused on giving project managers a quick and easy way to plan their project…
…from which project financial forecast results and portfolio reports are calculated.
Today, project managers often plan for their customer using Microsoft Excel or Project. From there, they either manually enter the results into SAP internal systems* or re-plan for SAP internal purposes to achieve the desired monthly project forecast.
From a role perspective, FELIPE is currently heavily targeted to the needs of project managers and planners. The primary reason for this focus is that accurate input from these roles is critical to achieve an accurate forecast. Offering a valuable, fast and easy solution for them to use will encourage them to plan directly in FELIPE, thus boosting the accuracy and transparency of the forecast.
We started with user centric / design thinking workshops – inviting colleagues from our target persona groups as well as central stakeholders to provide direct input, and earn their buy-in. Here some impressions of the graphical recordings representing the process:
The workshops have been followed by extensive working sessions and brain storming on following dimensions and with different tool support.
With the first setup of mockups we approached a round of end user usability testing, collecting the feedbacks collaboratively in Mural:
Our MVP implementation focus is currently on addressing the fundamental features with decomposing the planning and review dimensions into dedicated tables. Design principle: only one row per e.g. resource. We started piloting in November last year and are currently deploying new features into our productive system every three weeks ? -> after tackling the fundamentals, we want to address further personas (more analytical based entry points as well as a more work package driven planning).
We are a mixed group of: Business and IT -- UX designer and developers – testers (quality assurance) and technology evangelists – backend & integration magic – and and and ? -> always eager to put the end user first and see how we can approach it with SAP Fiori and HANA XSA ?
