On Tuesday November 8th, I travelled from Walldorf to Belgium for the first SAP Code Jam in
GHENT.
Hosted By: Delaware consulting
Location: Blue Tower 1 (4th floor) Sluisweg 1 Gent 9000 (BE)
Dates: Tuesday 8th November 2016
Times: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CET)
After a warm welcome from our host
Tim Leys, I took over the stage and introduce the CodeJam
format, HCP platform and services. Then we drove right into the topics of the day: Mobile Web
Application,
IoT – Internet of Things - and
HCP mobile services.
The CodeJam provided access to
useful exercises and tools for building applications on the
HANA Cloud Platform using
WebIDE. We provided some exercises to illustrate how easy it is
to develop mobile applications on HCP, and show a live demo on IoT services by connecting it
first to an iPhone and later on to a Texas Instruments SensorTag which send the data directly to the
HANA Cloud Platform, we also build a UI5 App with WebIDE to display graphically the data sent by
the sensor. It was a fun task for everybody..
To conclude the session, the participants were invited to build an offline app.
Several attendees were ready to jump in and help out each other, it was an easy task for almost
participants to go through all tutorials exercises and work with HCP by themself, I’ll assume we
have just an awesome technology that is easy to work with!
something delicious for the group to snack on after a fun morning of coding :
another delighful Nicoise and Chicken Caesar salad.
we also enjoyed lunch networking session
