Working with customers and partners to deliver SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, a solution shaped and tailored for companies of all sizes, has been a fantastic journey. This is an end-to-end cloud native, fully managed enterprise-grade data warehouse-as-a-service leveraging the power of SAP HANA’s in-memory technology. Designed for both business and IT, users can integrate data from any source and gain insights through powerful native analytics.

Now, with the product available to everyone, we’re excited to reveal the plans and packaging for this powerful solution.

Simplified Data Warehouse Pricing and Packaging

SAP Data Warehouse Cloud offers straight-forward packaging. The solution offers a single product with all features at a single price point. This is unlike any other complex offering in the market. You don’t need to compare editions, features, and capabilities along with the different costs associated with them.

You can start as small as you want and grow your data warehouse size as much as you need to. Such an approach gives you the predictability you are looking for to plan your budget accordingly and spend at a project, department or corporate level. It is your choice and you are in control!

The SAP Data Warehouse Cloud package, as a single offering, is comprised of the database (SAP HANA), the data warehouse services including data integration, physical modeling, semantic modeling, and data virtualization along with the visualization layer, SAP Analytics Cloud (with a fixed number of users at no additional cost). This provides you with a truly single, end-to-end solution.

The SAP Data Warehouse Cloud pricing model is based on the cost of compute and the cost of storage resources consumed. Both services consume a metric called data warehousing capacity units. Data warehousing capacity units are the number of units consumed by the usage of cloud services. There are two cloud services included in SAP Data Warehouse Cloud — storage and compute. The storage service is based on gigabytes of compressed data per month.

The compute service is based on the processing power to execute queries in-memory. The capacity unit concept provides you with the flexibility to separate compute and storage and manage your data between in-memory and SSD to control costs.

Transparent Capacity Unit Sizing

You can add any number of compute and storage blocks you need for the data warehouse consumption on a per month basis. Each compute and storage block consume a fixed number of capacity units.

A compute block, comprised of 64GB of RAM and 4 vCPUs, consumes 2,124 capacity units per month (720 hours), equivalent to 2.95 capacity units per hour, while a storage block of 256GB of SSD storage consumes 52 capacity units per month. There are no hidden restrictions or upcharges for usage.

SAP Data Warehouse Cloud is built with you in mind. It is cloud-native, fully-managed, end-to-end, and enterprise-grade making it a reality for every enterprise to become a data-driven enterprise. It is cost-effective and predictable, putting analytics in the hands of every intelligent enterprise.
