Focused solely on Brazilian SME partners, this edition of the Hack2Build was held in Portuguese from June 19th to 23rd, in a hybrid experience for the onsite and online presentations. The participants were able to quickly leverage their previous experience with data visualization tools and discover the capabilities of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). In just a week’s time, they were able to both develop beautiful dashboards with insightful KPIs and also explore some of the predictive and analytic features with more complex charts.

The Hack2Build initiative from SAP is a rapid prototyping initiative to drive early-stage inspiration, use case exploration and technology adoption for SAP partners. In this experience, partners validate their ideas, get coaching and support during the build of the prototype, and get hands-on experience with SAP Technologies. After the hackathon, they also explore how to package the solution and get ready for go-to-market.

Jean Geus, Channel Sales Manager for SME Brazil, triggered the promotion of this global SAP initiative for the SME Ecosystem in Brazil, with the goal of fostering the adoption of SAP Analytics Cloud among SME partners, which proved to be a very fitting proposal and quickly adopted in the ecosystem.

The Participating Companies

Hack2Build: Create Analytics Scenarios and Applications with SAP Analytics Cloud - Brazil – June/2023 Participants

We were glad to welcome nine SAP partner companies with over 60 individuals from Brazil. The participants of this edition of the Hack2Build were: b2finance, Grupo Inovage, Invent Software, Lago Consultoria, Liberali, ManyMinds, Ramo, Seidor and Uppertools.

Uncovering and identifying the possibilities of SAP Analytics Cloud, the participants prototyped use cases for a variety of industries, from retail to manufacturing. All of them built insightful Dashboards for company’s management based on real customers pain points. Then, they pushed further, as time allowed, to discover the advanced features, such as Predictive Scenarios, Smart Insights, Time Series Forecast and more. Even the participants that had never touched SAC before were impressed on how intuitive it is to work on this system.

All of this was possible due to the inspiring presentations in the Kick-off executive sessions and the quick enablement of the Kick-off expert sessions. For one side, the broad scope was generally presented, expanding the horizon of possibilities, and on the other hand the first steps and basic functionalities were shown to make the participants able to jump right into SAC and initiate their work.

Over a few days and with the support of SAP experts, the partners were ready for the Demo Jam, where they showcase their use cases and prototypes to the audience and judges.

The Demo Jam was a hybrid event, and part of the audience attended the event online, while others participated onsite, in the recently inaugurated Exed AppHaus São Paulo, a member of the SAP AppHaus Network.

Demo Jam and the Panel of Judges

The participants made it to the final Demo Jam and showcased their inspiring innovative solutions. With only 10 minutes to present the Business Case and the functioning prototype, they had an intense morning aiming to impress the Jury and answer their questions.

The Panel of Judges offered partners a diverse perspective and consisted of three SAP Senior Executives:

The judges were amazed by the showcases, given the constraints of such short time and high quality of the partner prototypes. They also had the chance to provide insights and feedback to each partner.

The Winners

Winner: Ramo

Ramo developed a set of functionalities as part of the Ramo Boss, a solution targeting C-levels that accelerates and simulates results for planning forecasting. It displays KPIs that are relevant for the business and is also accessible on mobile. It also has different reports for financial analysis: Sales, to receive (customers), to pay (suppliers), Budget and Expenses by Department, etc.

First Runner-up: Invent Software

Invent Software created Tax Analytics, a Fiscal Management Dashboard. It’s a simple yet deep dashboard that displays analysis for all Brazilian taxes: ICMS, IPI, PIS and COFINS, IRPJ and CSLL, and Profitability. It was based on a real need from customers.

Second Runner-up: Uppertools

Uppertools showcased BR One Analytics MES, for Intelligent Manufacturing. It’s a smart report that monitors productive equipment, data regarding consumption of quantity of materials and productive time used in each Production Order.
